How to Overcome the Struggle of Cooking for Yourself

Join my new creative course to discover fresh perspectives on how to easily cook just4you.

This video is a 4 minute introduction to the course by presenter and creator, Caroline Rowe.

If you don't bother to cook as there is just you... read on!

Do you cook just for you most of the time? If so, I'm sure you've faced this challenge, even though you know eating well is important for your health. If you'd like to overcome this barrier to self-care and untangle your relationship with food and cooking read on.

Caroline's cooking story

I’ve cooked for myself for a long time and most times enjoy it. I'm a good home cook and delight in learning about food and cooking.

However, even though I loved cooking, I would often not bother to cook as it was just me.

To be truthful, this happened more often than I would admit back then. Then I realised that things had to change as my health needed stronger attention. I needed to prioritise my well-being.

More recipes are not the answer

In need of inspiration, I collected more cookbooks… but the meal size was too large for just4Me and used ingredients not to my taste or required cooking styles  I didn’t enjoy using.

So, I still didn’t bother to cook!

I then decided to creating recipes sized for one was the answer, so I wrote two cookbooks. Whilst my books are popular, I realised that everyone is unique.

We are all unique

Be it their diet (think keto, vegan, low carbs etc.), the ingredients they need to avoid (think sugar, dairy, gluten etc.), or the cooking methods they prefer to use.

To care for myself, I needed to do things differently by understanding my relationship with food and cooking.

Lots of reflection, observation and research have led me to connect with my Inner Cook, who I named Winsome, and together, we developed a new way of working my kitchen that truly suits me.

A new perspective on cooking and food preparation

The results have been transformative. I’m cooking for myself more often. I’m less stressed, waste less food, and save money on my food bills! Win, win, win!

Over the last two years, I’ve been sharing my approach with friends, family and other just4Me cooks. They have found the process liberating and transformative and wanted more.

I'm excited to share this practical, innovative approach with a broader audience.

Please take a look below for details of this breakthrough course.

What participants are saying about the course

Frank

Nov 2022

The course was brilliant, unusual, different and helpful.

“I got little satisfaction from the process of cooking. Somehow I do force myself to cook a bit and be careful about eating out, takeaway and prepared meals. Caroline did cause me to realise I had some ideas about myself and some skills. The course was brilliant, unusual, different and helpful.”

Sharee
